Fred Slides Down the Hill

Once there was a young penguin named Fred. 

Fred went out for a walk in the snow one day. 

Where do you think Fred lives?

A. where it is cold
B. where it is hot
C. where it rains a lot

 

 

 

Far off, Fred saw a baby seal and a baby polar bear going down a snowy hill.

Do you like sledding?

Yes        No

"That looks fun!" thought Fred. 

What do you think will happen next?

A.  Fred will slide down the hill too.
B.  Fred will go home.

Fred walked up the hill and looked down.

The hill looked very steep.

Fred began to feel scared.

The seal and the polar bear saw Fred afraid on top of the hill.

"Don't worry!" they said.

"It's fun to slide down the hill. We do it all the time!"

Fred took a deep breath and jumped.

Wheeeeee!

Sliding down the snowy hill was fun!

Now Fred has two new friends to go sliding with.
