Measure to the Nearest Half-Inch

A ruler can be used to measure lengths, widths, and heights.

The customary unit of length is the inch. You can line up an object with a ruler to measure its length in inches.

The length of this pencil is about 4 inches.

If the length of an object falls between two whole inches, then you can measure its length in half-inches.
